Experience cozy atmosphere in Copenhagen

So what is the secret behind the concept of ‘’hygge’’ and what makes Danes so often rank in the happiest country in the world charts? Is this being a cup of hot cocoa on a Thursday afternoon? Or fresh strawberry cheesecake for a breakfast? Or maybe lightened up candles on a cold winter night while tucking yourself in the woolen blanket?

We would say, there is no one magical answer to describe the ‘’hygge’’ way of life, or how we would translate it in English, there is no correct or wrong answer what defines the coziness. But one is clear, Danes‘’hygge’’ is more about the quality of time you spent, than where and how you spend it. Therefore, we are offering tour, where our friendly guide will make you feel cozy during 3-hour long walking, where you will be able to see the most colorful and photographed district of Copenhagen, walk down the narrow streets with a hot cup of coffee, explore some of Copenhagens oldest buildings and so much more.

Our tour guide is a local Dane, therefore he will introduce you to the ‘’hygge’’ concept from his personal understanding. He will tell you more about the Danes itself, what makes this country so successful and one of the wealthiest countries in the world. What is the typical day of Danes and what you can learn from this country already today, in order to live a more happy life. He will tell it all and even more, while you explore the beautiful Scandinavian designs almost in every building you will be passing by.

We will start our tour at the Little Mermaid statue, where you will see this must-see object of Copenhagen. Little Mermaid’s statue was inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytale about a mermaid who gave up everything to be united with a young, handsome price. Fairytale tells, that every morning, she swims to the surface to catch a glimpse of her beloved prince. But this time, Little Mermaid will not be the one who will observe somebody, this time you will have a chance to catch a glimpse of little Mermaid herself, and also you will experience the beautiful surroundings around this famous statue. We will continue our walk by the charming pier to reach our next stopping point- the Amalienborg Palace.

Amalienborg Palace is the official residence of the Danish Royal family. Right across the river, you will be able to witness with your own eyes Royal Danish Opera building too. This time our tour will not include the change of the Royal guard, but if you stay in Copenhagen for several days, we highly recommend to arrive at the Palace at 12:00 AM and experience the guard change with your own eyes.

From Amalienborg Palace, we will have a cozy stroll to Nyhavn, Copenhagen’s most colorful district, which will make everybody feel cheerful. It is one of the most photographed districts in Copenhagen, so don’t forget your camera to save some beautiful memories.

Next, we will go towards the Copenhagen National Museum, to the area where you will be able to see Christiansborg Palace, place, where Copenhagen was founded. Be ready for some exciting history what our tour guide will tell you about Christiansborg Palace.

After that, we will arrive to Stroget, where our walking tour will slowly come to an end. Exactly here, you will see the longest pedestrian street in the world, where you will be able to find the famous Stork Fountain and have some delicious cake since Stroget is full of cozy cafes. Our tour guide will recommend where you can get the best cheesecake, because who doesn’t like cheesecake, right? You will hear some street musicians who will fill the air with a positive vibe to make your morning or afternoon even more relaxed.

Stroget will take us to the Round Tower, which is Europe’s oldest functioning observatory. Climbing to the top of the tower will require a little power, but we promise, the 360-degree view will be so much worth this little climbing struggle. Here our tour will end and we are pretty sure you will feel some of the Danes ‘’hygge’’ in your body and soul.
