Paris Highlights: From Louvre Museum to Notre Dame

Join a small group or a private tour which covers the highlights of Paris, including major sites of interest, bridges, palaces, and parks together with the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Louvre Museum. Your guide will offer a comprehensive view of Paris history and culture, which is sure to intrigue first-time and returning visitors alike.

Start your journey in front of  Comédie Française and the gardens of the Palais Royal, a former royal palace, just opposite the Louvre. Listen as your guide explains the history and architecture of this expansive building and its park, and as well as their importance to modern Parisian city culture.

Pass by the Louvre Museum and gaze upon some of the exhibition rooms from the outside. Follow your guide to the Pyramid of Louvre, easily one of the most well-known spots in Paris. Enjoy a detailed tour of the area which focuses more on the street life of Paris, giving you a feel for both the local culture and important landmarks, minus standing in line waiting for tickets.

Next, observe the Tuileries Garden connecting the Louvre to the Place de la Concorde. Here is the spot where Parisians celebrate together and meet for a chat. As you watch the Parisians go about their day, listen as your guide explains how the setting served as a reference point for the modern development of Paris. Observe the historical axis of Paris’ two Arc de Triomphes and the Champs-Elysées. Understand how these unique masterpieces of architecture inventively combine different orders and styles and have influenced art and culture for many years.

Linger in the Square Court (Cour Carré), a jewel of Renaissance architecture from which The Louvre was born.

Follow the winding River Seine and cross the famous Pont des Arts, which is both a pedestrian bridge and a national historic monument. See the art exhibitions, and its open-air studio where painters, artists, and photographers are drawn to this unique vantage point. If it’s summer, you’ll catch many Parisians enjoying a sunny picnic in this lovely spot.

As you stroll on, your local guide will introduce you to the most famous characters of Paris in history, its significant turning points, political highlights, and the key historical events which make up the beloved Paris of today.

Approaching Notre Dame Cathedral, learn about the Île de la Cité and be surprised by the historical tidbits that this island will offer you. Your guide will also discuss the impacts of the recent fire and the future of Notre Dame itself.

Leave your guide Notre-Dame Cathedral with countless references and recommendations with which to enrich the rest of your stay in Paris.
